Anamnesis (an-am-NEE-sis) – the remembering of things from a supposed previous existence.
In Plato’s philosophy, anamnesis describes the idea that learning is really recollection: uncovering truths already within us. This journal of essays takes that idea as its foundation. Each piece revisits enduring questions about philosophy, politics, history, and society and places them in conversation with the present. Written as an independent, student-led endeavor, Anamnesis is a single voice reflecting on why we think, believe, and act as we do.
